Designing Efficient Web Forms

This website provides a laundry list of items that you can do to better enhance your forms and help their accessibility. I will focus on some of the ones that I can implement here. The first has to do with grouping your information. You should be grouping all information that has similar characteristics, an example would be any personal information. This can include things like your name, date of birth, and gender. By grouping these types of items together you can make it easier for your user to fill out said form. The second item I learned here that I can implement is keeping all information in one column. By utilizing this strategy it makes it easier for the user to comprehend the information needed for the form.

This website also provides numerous ways to help better your form design. These are some of my favorite offerings on this website. First, they recommend that all text align to the left. This was found to lower the time needed to complete forms. They also recommend using positive error messages, like "please enter your name", versus a negative message like "you didn't enter a name". They believe that you should never blame the user, which I completely agree with!
